The RRP is $475 per person, minimum of 8 persons required, maximum 10 pax on any day.
We will accept a booking request for any number of guests, even if only 1 or 2 of you, you should still book.
We will endeavor to combine other bookings to fill the Tour.
The price of the Cessna flight is included in the Tour.
You will need to make your own way to and from main Chatham Airport. Your main Island accommodation provider may provide transport and a booking service for a fee.

Lunch: A full lunch at Flowerpot Bay Lodge is included with the day tour. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know when making the booking, not the night before please.
Weather conditions: Many of the scenic vantage points are only accessible off-road. In consideration of our access providers, we prefer not to drive across paddocks when very wet, plus it’s just too dangerous. For the majority of the summer there is no issue, but please understand if we need to call off a tour because of wet weather, we do this as a very last resort.
More on weather: Remember that it is the pilots ultimate call if the weather looks dicey, they need to have clear conditions at both ends. Often it can be clear here at Flowerpot and fogged in at Chatham or vice versa. We usually start liaising with the pilot at first light and attempt to make a call by 7.00am. We will always confirm on the morning by phone either way.
Weather delays: When a tour is delayed, for whatever reason, we will offer you the next available day. You may accept or decline the alternative day. Please note that in peak season, there may be no alternative day available within the period of your Chatham holiday.
Flight times: The first plane is scheduled to depart at 9.00am, so guests should be at the airport no later than 8.45am. Guests should wait at the terminal, the pilot will meet you and escort to the plane. When more than five on the tour, the second plane is 1 hour later, take off at 10.00am. The flight time is 25 minutes. Arrival back at Chatham is 4.30pm and 5.30pm – all going well. ?
Numbers: Please note that there needs to be a minimum of eight (8) for the Tour to Operate, this will require two Cessna flights. We can accept a booking for less than 8, as often there are other passengers to make up numbers, or we will combine tours. We will do all the coordinating with pilot, plane and numbers to make your tour happen. Please inquire.
Getting stuck: On the odd occasion, usually due to fog, we cannot get day visitors off the Island by plane. On these rare occasions, there are two alternatives, a 1-hr boat trip back to Owenga or stay the night and fly back to Chatham next morning (weather permitting). So that you know where you stand, we offer a special “Stuck Rate” on a share-twin basis at Flowerpot Bay Lodge. The price is $200 pp inclusive of 2 course dinner, bed and breakfast. This is a reduced rate and only available for stuck day guests. Unless agreed by prior arrangement, you will need to pay this before departure from Pitt Island.
Please note that there is always a very slight risk of getting stuck, it generally only happens once a year.
What to bring: Medications, please bring any important medication you might need just in case you get stuck, Camera, Solid footwear, Warm clothing and sence of adventure.
Walking: The Day Tour includes several short walks, one of up to 1 ¼ hours. Guests should be of adequate fitness to do these walks. If not, please let us know.
Booking Day Tours: Bookings are first come, first served. Tours must be booked in advance using the Day Tour Booking Request form. You must confirm the booking request by phone or email 7 days prior to the Tour. We suggest printing and completing this form and either scanning as a .pdf or photographing it and then emailing it to [email protected].
You can complete the form on your smart phone: Save the .pdf form, open it, click on Edit, Fill & Sign, add the necessary data and sign it, click the Tick to save it. Email it to us.
If you have just arrived on Chatham's, last minute bookings can also be taken by telephone, but please have all the required information available per the form before calling. We suggest making your booking request well in advance or at the same time you book your Chatham's trip.
Credit Card: A Credit card is required to complete the booking. The Tour cost is NOT charged to this credit card, this card would only be charged if there was a last minute cancelation and you could not fill that space. Once the Tour is complete, all credit card details will be destroyed.
Payment: Payment can be made on the day of the Tour, on Pitt Island at the Lodge during lunch. Payment can be made collectively or individually with Cash, Credit Card or Eftpos. A 2.5% credit card fee will apply.
Confirmation: Regardless of any advanced booking, we will confirm the Tour, subject to availability, weather and best day - 48 hours prior. This is when the Tour booking is confirmed. Final numbers will be charged for, we start preparing lunch and confirm final passenger numbers with Air Chathams the night before. Last minute cancelations mean that other guests miss out.
If we cancel: If we or Air Chathams are unable to complete the tour on the day, we will offer the next available alternate day. You may accept or decline this alternate. There will be no charge or payment due. Please note, in peak season, there may be no alternate day available during your period of stay.
If you cancel: Last minute cancelations mean that other guests waiting can miss out. If you cancel within 24 hrs of the confirmed Tour, or if there is a No Show by any confirmed guest on the day, we will charge $175.00 pp to the credit card supplied at the time of booking.
